The many years of experience of Pure Hazelwood's team allows them to select fresh wood that meets the highest standards of quality. Shade is important: wood that is too pale is less rich in active ingredients! Moreover, while the concentration percentage of anti-inflammatory molecules does not depend on the twigs' size, it will have a tendency to split more when beyond a certain diameter.

Pure Hazelwood jewelry is decorated with glass pearls, wood beads, or natural genstones such as amethyst, quartz or Baltic amber. We were the first company to integrate hazelwood with amber, a known reliever of teething pain and other disorders.  All the metal pieces are lead and cadmium free.

Pure Hazelwood is the only company that has invested into scientific research to validate the properties and bioactivity of the Canadian northern boreal forest hazel's wood. The first trials conducted at Laval University, in Quebec, Canada demonstrated that hazelwood extracts harvested for Pure Hazelwood are very rich in polyphenols and have antioxidant, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects. Research continues with an accredited laboratory helping Pure Hazelwood to measure and better understand the skin contact efficiency of its products for in vitro models.

11 and 13 inch necklaces (0-4 years old): When there is tension on the hazelwood teething necklace, the fastenings will release and the beads will be held on the wire by clamps so that the child cannot access the small pieces.

14 inch and larger necklaces (4 years old and up): When there is tension on the hazelwood necklace, a sturdier lobster fastening that will not release unless it's under a great tension.

Make sure the necklace stays under the baby’s chin so they won’t be able to put it into their mouth. You should be able to place two fingers between the necklace and the baby’s neck. Parents must supervise children less than 3 years old wearing any necklace. Also, for maximum security, remember to change the necklace every 3 months.

Pure Hazelwood works with accredited laboratories in order to ensure that Canadian, American and European safety standards are met.
